General Collection of Data During Website Visits

We collect a series of general data and information with each visit to the website by a data subject or an automated system. This general data and information is stored in the server’s log files. The following data is collected:

  • an internet protocol address (IP address),
  • the date and time of access to the website,
  • the exact subpage accessed on our website,
  • the website from which you arrived at our website (the so-called referrer),
  • the browser used and its version,
  • and the operating system used for access.

The aforementioned data is processed by us for the following purposes:

  • to ensure a smooth connection establishment of the website,
  • to optimize the content of our website for you,
  • and to ensure the system’s security and stability.

These points are in your and our legitimate interest. Additionally, we may use this data to comply with our legal obligations in cooperation with law enforcement authorities. In no case do we use the collected data to draw conclusions about your person. The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The retention period for these log files is a maximum of 2 months.

Contact form, request information, schedule an appointment, initial consultation, online application

If you contact us via a form on the website or by email, or if you submit an application, we store the information you provide along with the general data described above. By using our form, you consent to the processing of your data. We do not share the data with third parties and use it exclusively to process the contact request and respond to the specific inquiry.

In the case of contact by email, the processing of the request also constitutes the legitimate interest required for data processing. The legal basis for the processing of data, when user consent is given, is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted in the course of sending an email is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The data transmitted to us in the course of contacting us will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for achieving the purpose for which it was collected. With regard to personal data from the contact form and data sent by email, this is the case when the respective conversation with the user is finished. The conversation is considered finished when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the relevant issue has been conclusively resolved.

If the purpose of the contact is also to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. In this case, we will retain your inquiry as business correspondence for 7 years.

Linking to social media via graphic or text link

We also promote our presence on the social networks listed below via our website. This integration is done using a linked graphic of the respective network. By using this linked graphic, it is ensured that when a page of our website containing social media promotion is accessed, no automatic connection is established to the servers of the respective social network to display its graphic.

Only by clicking on the relevant graphic will the user be redirected to the service of the respective social network.

Once the user has been redirected, data about the user will be collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way may be processed in the United States.

This data may initially include information such as the IP address, date, time, and the page visited. If the user is logged into their account on the respective network at the time, the network operator may be able to associate the collected information from the user’s specific visit with the user’s personal account. If the user interacts via a “share” button of the respective network, this information can be stored in the user’s personal account and possibly published.

To prevent this direct association with their personal account, users must log out before clicking on the graphic. In addition, users can configure their account settings accordingly.
